Nigeria😍😍Super Eagles 😍😍 fight back to see off Cameroon

Nigeria fight back to see off Cameroon
Nigeria produced a second-half comeback to beat Cameroon 3-2 and book their place in the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Super Eagles had taken an early lead through Odion Ighalo’s deflected effort in the 19th minute.
However, Cameroon turned the match around with two quick goals just before half-time.
Stephane Bahoken got on the end of Christian Bassogog’s lofted cross to equalise in the 41st minute.
Clinton N’Jie then showed good strength to hold off a defender and slot in another to put the Indomitable Lions ahead.
At the start of the second half, Marseille forward N’Jie was denied by Nigeria keeper Daniel Akpeyi and Ighalo levelled things up at 2-2 just after the hour when he drilled in a volley.
In the 66th minute, Arsenal midfielder Alex Iwobi produced a neat first-time finish after running onto a pass from Ighalo inside the Cameroon box to edge Nigeria back in front.
Nigeria also saw late chances for Ighalo and Ahmed Musa, but had already done enough to make sure of a place in the last eight.

Real Madrid ready to sell four players to get Paul Pogba deal sealed

REAL MADRID are ready to offload four players as they step up their chase for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.
Los Blancos struggled last season and finished a whopping 19 points behind La Liga champions Barcelona.
The heavyweights failed to make the transition into a post-Cristiano Ronaldo era and sweeping changes are now taking place at the club.
Zidane has already lavishly splashed the clash.
But with Pogba still firmly on the agenda, he now needs to sell before he can buy.
According to Spanish news outlet Diario Madridista, a high-profile quartet are in the firing line.
Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez, Keylor Navas and Dani Ceballos all look set to pack their bags.
Some players will be easier to shift than others.
Ceballos is being chased by a host of clubs - including Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Rodriguez, meanwhile, has been linked with Manchester United but a move to Napoli now looks most likely.
The Colombian forward spent two seasons on loan at Bayern Munich but the Bundesliga side opted not to make the transfer permanent.

Frustrated Messi launches rant at officials after his Copa America dismissal

Frustrated Messi launches rant at officials after his Copa America dismissal
Lionel Messi claimed Argentina were treated unfairly at the Copa America and did not collect his bronze medal after being controversially sent off in the 2-1 third-place play-off win over Chile.
The Barcelona star was dismissed towards the end of the first half of Saturday’s match in Sao Paulo following a confrontation with former Cardiff midfielder Gary Medel, who was also shown a red card.
Messi appeared to have been hard done by, with Chile defender Medel appearing to push his head towards the Argentina playmaker as they squared up, chest to chest.
Messi did not take part in the medal presentations with the rest of the squad, and told reporters of his frustrations following the ceremony.
The Argentina captain suggested he had been singled out following his comments over the “crazy” officiating in the wake of their 2-0 semi-final defeat by hosts Brazil in Belo Horizonte.
“We don’t need to be part of the corruption that we’ve suffered at this tournament,” Messi said, as quoted by Spanish media outlet AS.
“Medel is always right at the limit. With a yellow that would have been the end of it for both of us, but well, maybe what I said recently had an impact.
“What’s important is that the team finished well in the tournament. Maybe this was ordered and I ended up suffering because of what I said.”

On Monday night, the 41-year-old was finalising the details on a three-year contract worth around £4.5million a year – and Lampard is set to be unveiled to fans later this week.
Lampard and his assistant Jody Morris were excused the first day of pre-season training with Derby County on Monday, in order to wrap up negotiations for their switch to Chelsea.
A statement from the Rams read: "Derby County Football Club has excused Frank Lampard from reporting back for pre-season training on Monday and Tuesday to allow his discussions regarding a potential move to Chelsea to be concluded as soon as possible.
"The first few days of pre-season training will be focused on fitness training and will continue as planned under the guidance of the fitness, medical, conditioning and sports science teams at the club's Training Centre.
"On the assumption that Frank will reach an agreement with Chelsea to become their new manager, the club shall step up its efforts to find a replacement manager."
Former England midfielder Lampard, Chelsea's record club goalscorer, will be back at the club he left as a player five years ago – this time as manager.

Arsenal focus remains on Zaha despite £30m Lucas Vazquez link

Arsenal focus remains on Zaha despite £30m Lucas Vazquez link
Wilfried Zaha remains Arsenal’s priority this summer as they look to bring in a winger to bolster their attack.
The Gunners are exploring other options due to the difficulty they face convincing Crystal Palace to part with their star man, but Real Madrid's Lucas Vazquez is not understood to be on the agenda.
There have been reports in Spain that Unai Emery had identified Vasquez as a target and that the north London club were closing in on a £30 million ($37.7m) deal.
But Vasquez’s focus remains very much on Madrid, despite suggestions that he will soon be on the way out of the club.
Arsenal, meanwhile, have been offered the chance to sign Malcom by Barcelona and Goal has learned there is interest in potentially bringing the Brazilian to the Emirates.
The Gunners pursued the 22-year-old while Arsene Wenger was still in charge before he eventually left Bordeaux for Barcelona last summer.
Malcom failed to make much of an impression at the Liga champions, however, making just 15 league appearances last season, and Barcelona have made it known that he is available at a price of €40m (£36m/$45m). There have been informal talks with several clubs across Europe to try and generate interest, including Arsenal.
Arsenal’s head of football Raul Sanllehi still has strong contacts at Camp Nou following more than a decade with the Catalan giants and is well aware of Malcom’s situation.

PAUL POGBA wants out of Manchester United - but will only join Juventus or Real Madrid if they meet his massive wage demands.
Pogba wants to leave Manchester United this summer, with both Real Madrid and Juventus hellbent on securing the player’s signature.
The World Cup winner has decided that, after three years of failing to get anywhere near the Premier League and Champions League trophies, enough is enough.
Pogba opened the door to a move away from Manchester United last month, saying: “There is a lot of thinking [going on].
“I have been three years in Manchester and have been doing great – some good moments and some bad moments, like everybody, like everywhere else.
“After this season and everything that happened, with my season being my best season … it could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else.”

Bournemouth see £12m Butland offer rejected
Bournemouth have seen an offer of £12 million ($15m) rejected by Stoke City for England international goalkeeper Jack Butland, reports The Daily Mail.
The 26-year-old spent last season playing Championship football, and the Potters have valued him at £20m ($25m) plus add-ons.
Butland kept 18 clean sheets in 45 league appearances last season and won his ninth England cap in a friendly against Switzerland in September 2018.

NAPOLI are the latest Serie A club who are keen to lure Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku to Italy this summer.
The Belgium international wants to quit Old Trafford after falling down the pecking order and has also got Inter Milan and Juventus interested in him.
But United are refusing are budge from their £75million valuation which has opened the door for Napoli to make an enquiry to sign him.
Inter are still the front runners after Lukaku expressed a desire to work with former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte who is now in charge at the San Siro.
United are willing to sell Lukaku but Inter want a two-season-long period with an obligation to buy which is causing the deal to stall.

CHILE star Alexis Sanchez has been backed to quit Manchester United after a horror 18 months at Old Trafford.
Sanchez joined from Arsenal last January but has scored just five goals for the club in all competitions.
He had scored 80 times for Arsenal in 166 appearances but has not found the same form at United.
With his high wage, it’s led many to think Sanchez could be sold by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
And Sky Sports reporter Mark McAdam believes a departure might be best for the Chilean’s career.
McAdam said: “I feel sorry for him because I don’t want to see a footballer - particularly someone as talented as Alexis Sanchez - fail on the biggest stage.

Rapinoe wants pay talk in women’s football to ‘move to the next step’

Rapinoe wants pay talk in women’s football to ‘move to the next step’
Megan Rapinoe declared it was time for the conversation about pay in women’s football to move “forward to the next step” after she helped the United States retain their World Cup title.
The holders’ 2-0 victory over Holland in the final in Lyon saw Rapinoe score the opener with a coolly converted 61st-minute penalty before Rose Lavelle added a fine strike eight minutes later.
On the eve of the match Rapinoe had spoken at a pre-match press conference about the gap in prize money between the men’s and women’s World Cups.
On Sunday the 34-year-old was asked what she thought about chants of ‘equal pay’ and boos for FIFA president Gianni Infantino from the crowd after the game.

Real Madrid are waiting to see what happens with Mbappe... and Neymar

Real Madrid are waiting to see what happens with Mbappe... and Neymar
Kylian Mbappe has broken the happy ecosystem that he appeared to be in with Paris Saint-Germain by asking for greater prominence. His statements came with the eyes of France on him at the Ligue 1 awards on Sunday night, which have since reverberated around the world.
What he made clear was that he either wanted to be the main man at PSG, or he would look for a club where he could undertake that role. From his statements, anything is possible. The knock-on effect is that the exit door at the Parc des Princes is now slightly ajar, either for Mbappe or Neymar, ahead of the summer transfer window.
If there's a club that needs to sign a star, a poster boy, it's Real Madrid. Those upstairs at the Santiago Bernabeu have always dreamt of bringing Neymar and, more recently, Mbappe to the Spanish capital. However, Florentino Perez has not wanted to enter a war with PSG nor the Emir of Qatar, the true owner of the Parisian side.

Bale and Zidane's troubled relationship at Real Madrid

The truth behind Bale and Zidane's troubled relationship at Real Madrid
As Real Madrid's season came to an end with an underwhelming, disappointing home defeat that has typified this annus horribilis for the club, one man who was not involved became the centre of attention.
While the outgoing Keylor Navas received a warm ovation from the Bernabeu crowd Gareth Bale sat stoically on the bench, watching from afar as his side were downed 2-0 by Betis. That result left Madrid in third place, a massive 19 points adrift of runaway Liga champions Barcelona.
Zinedine Zidane's refusal to bring the Welsh winger into the action in what could well prove his last appearance in a Madrid squad did serve to instantly banish memories of yet another insipid display from his troops. But it also marks the culmination of a process of separation and distancing between Bale and his coach that has been in the making for years.
“I don't know what will happen. I went with other players. That is the situation, others came in,” Zidane told reporters after the game.

FIFA scraps plans for 48-team World Cup in 2022

FIFA scraps plans for 48-team World Cup in 2022
FIFA has given up on its efforts to expand the 2022 World Cup to 48 teams, football's world governing body announced on Wednesday.
"In line with the conclusions of the feasibility study approved by the FIFA Council at its last meeting, FIFA and Qatar have jointly explored all possibilities to increase the number of participant teams from 32 to 48 teams by involving neighbouring countries at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022," a FIFA statement read on Thursday.
"Following a thorough and comprehensive consultation process with the involvement of all the relevant stakeholders, it was concluded that under the current circumstances such a proposal could not be made now.
"Additionally, FIFA and Qatar have once again explored the feasibility of Qatar hosting a 48-team tournament by in particular lowering certain key FIFA requirements. A joint analysis, in this respect, concluded that due to the advanced stage of preparations and the need for a detailed assessment of the potential logistical impact on the host country, more time would be required and a decision could not be taken before the deadline of June. It was therefore decided not to further pursue this option.

Ronaldo wins Serie A Player of the Year in first season in Italy

Ronaldo wins Serie A Player of the Year in first season in Italy
The Portugal international striker will get the award before Sunday's game with Atalanta, having already won similar awards in England and Spain
Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo has been awarded the Serie A Player of the Season award, in his first season in Italy.
Ronaldo led the Turin giants to their eighth straight Scudetto with his 21 goals in the league leading the team.
The timing of the award is unusual as Serie A individual awards have always been given out all at the same time, after the conclusion of the season, but Ronaldo will be recognised before their game against Atalanta on Sunday.
The other award-winners include Inter’s Samir Handanovic, who wins Goalkeeper of the Year.
Kalidou Koulibaly scoops the Defender of the Year gong, and the Napoli man is joined by Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Fabio Quagliarella of Sampdoria and Nicolo Zaniola, who plays for Roma.
The final three players are awarded midfielder, striker and young talent of the year respectively.
