Manchester City plotting world record £200m raid for Kylian Mbappe while PSG face Financial Fair Play probe
Mbappe has scored five goals for PSG this season
PEP GUARDIOLA wants to make a record £200MILLION January bid for Kylian Mbappe.
Manchester City's move would beat the £198m fee Paris Saint-Germain paid Barcelona for Neymar in 2017 — and cost City £20m a year in wages.
Boss Guardiola believes the World Cup-winning forward, 19, can take the club to Champions League glory.
New Uefa rules mean the PSG whizzkid would NOT be cup-tied for the knockout stages of Europe’s biggest club tournament if he is signed this winter.

MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho could be sacked this week, according to reports.
United were beaten 3-1 by West Ham on Saturday leaving them with just 10 points from their opening seven Premier League games.
That represents the worst start to a season for the Red Devils since 1989-90 and Mourinho is under increasing pressure.
Reports have circulated of a falling out with Paul Pogba and the Frenchman was stripped of his captaincy role earlier this week.

West Ham defeat adds to Manchester United’s troubled season

West Ham defeat adds to Manchester United’s troubled season
Manchester United’s troubled season reached a new low after a 3-1 defeat at West Ham.
Felipe Anderson’s early strike, a Victor Lindelof own-goal and Marko Arnautovic’s finish left United manager Jose Mourinho increasingly feeling the heat.
The drama at Old Trafford is rapidly turning into a crisis as United equalled their worst start to a Premier League season with just 10 points from their opening seven matches.
Their record matches that of United four years ago under David Moyes, who did not see out the season.
It was a desperate end to a miserable week which saw United knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Derby and Mourinho’s relationship with record signing Paul Pogba become even more fractured.

Liverpool won't man-mark Hazard – Klopp

Liverpool won't man-mark Hazard – Klopp
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp insisted his team would not man-mark Eden Hazard, saying the Chelsea star was too flexible.
Hazard has made an impressive start to the season, scoring five goals and assisting two in six Premier League games.
The Belgium international also scored a stunning winner against Liverpool in the EFL Cup on Wednesday.
While Klopp is wary of Hazard ahead of Saturday's clash at Stamford Bridge, the German said it was too tough to man-mark the 27-year-old attacker.

Griezmann remained silent until he won the European Super Cup, then immediately posted on his social networks a picture of Ramos putting a crown on him.

Real Madrid set sights on €70million World Cup winner transfer to replace Cristiano Ronaldo

Real Madrid set sights on €70million World Cup winner transfer to replace Cristiano Ronaldo
Real Madrid are reportedly eager to seal the transfer of Paris Saint-Germain winger Julian Draxler to replace Cristiano Ronaldo on the left-hand side of their attack this summer.
The Spanish giants are yet to bring in a new big-name signing up front despite letting Ronaldo join Juventus earlier in this transfer window, which looks a risky approach as the new season begins.
According to Don Balon, Draxler is now emerging as a realistic target as he may be more affordable than the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, also at PSG.
The Germany international, a World Cup winner with his country back in 2014, has long looked a top talent despite some struggles for consistency in his career so far.

I'm very happy with what I have - Spalletti not desperate for Modric
Inter and Luciano Spalletti seem to have accepted defeat in their pursuit of Luka Modric after the coach said he is content with his squad.
Luciano Spalletti is not desperate for the signing of Real Madrid star Luka Modric, adamant he is "very happy" with the squad he currently has at Inter.
After Modric's World Cup participation concluded with Croatia's defeat to France in the final, the Golden Ball winner became a surprise subject of speculation, with Inter reportedly making a move to bring him to San Siro.
Inter have not made their interest a secret in recent weeks and some reports have even suggested Modric was willing to listen to offers from the Serie A side.

Messi temporarily steps down from the Argentina national team

Messi temporarily steps down from the Argentina national team
Argentina's disastrous World Cup has forced Lionel Messi into a rethink and he has reportedly decided he'll not play for the Albiceleste again in 2018.
With Lionel Scaloni in caretaker charge, it remains to be seen who'll be the next permanent Argentina coach and now it also remains to be seen when or if Messi will be back.
According to TNT Sports, the No.10 will not go the United States for the country's friendlies against Guatemala and Colombia on September 7 and September 11 respectively.
He'll also skip the match against Brazil in Saudi Arabia in October.
His return in time for the 2019 Copa America in Brazil is now the big question mark.

Real Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui insists he doesn't feel pressure living up to the legacy of Zinedine Zidane.
Lopetegui is preparing for his competitive debut as Real coach ahead of the European Super Cup clash with Atletico Madrid.
Asked about the shadow of Zidane, he insisted: "Zidane did a great job and Madrid achieved successes and that is part of the past.
"We want to continue consolidating the history of the club and we want to do it without looking back. We want to look at the present with work and with confidence. "There is no other way."

Barcelona rule out move for unsettled Man Utd star Pogba
The 25-year-old has seen his future at Manchester United called into doubt, but Barca's director says a big-money move isn't forthcoming
Barcelona director Ariedo Braida has admitted that his club are unlikely to move for Manchester United star Paul Pogba.
Pogba's future at Old Trafford has been called into question after a turbulent 2017-18 season in which he clashed with manager Jose Mourinho, who dropped Pogba from his starting XI multiple times.
The France midfielder, who starred in his country's World Cup triumph this summer, has been linked with a return to former club Juventus, as well as Spanish champions Barcelona.

N'Golo Kante better in 'different role'… Maurizio Sarri has midfield sorted

N'Golo Kante better in 'different role'… Maurizio Sarri has midfield sorted
That is according to former Blues striker and Premier League pundit Chris Sutton.
The World Cup winner has been an integral part of Chelsea's midfield for the past two seasons.
And 2017 PFA Player of the Year Kante made the perfect start to the new campaign on Saturday.
Off the back of World Cup glory with France in Russia this summer, the 27-year-old scored Chelsea's first goal of the season in their 3-0 win at Huddersfield.
Kante had managed just three goals in his 89 first-team appearances for Chelsea before Saturday.
But it appears he could be ready to chip in more in front of goal now too.

Chelsea forward compared to World Cup superstar Kylian Mbappe

Chelsea forward compared to World Cup superstar Kylian Mbappe
Hudson-Odoi, 17, impressed new Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri in pre-season and started the Community Shield defeat to Manchester City at Wembley.
There is plenty of hype around the forward and former team-mate Jonathan Panzo, who left for Monaco in the summer, believes the sky is the limit.
When asked who Hudson-Odoi reminds him of, Panzo told The Sun: "He is maybe a little like Mbappe with his speed and dribbling."
He added: "Callum was one of the best players at Chelsea when I joined.
"When we got a bit older it was him and me who used to play up out of our age group with the older boys.
"He's gone back there doing his thing an earned his place in that squad.

Barcelona(N) 2 - 1 Sevilla: Dembele seals Supercopa success for Barcelona

Barcelona(N) 2 - 1 Sevilla: Dembele seals Supercopa success for Barcelona
Ousmane Dembele scored a screamer and Wissam Ben Yedder missed a last-minute penalty as Barcelona came from behind to lift the Supercopa de Espana at Sevilla’s expense.
The game, held on foreign soil for the first time at Tangier’s Stade Ibn Batouta, had been in some doubt with Sevilla unhappy about a relaxation of rules around non-EU players.
Barca drew the sting from that row by leaving summer signing Malcolm out of their matchday squad and still had the firepower to win the game 2-1.

“He would have stayed” - Agent explains why Thibaut Courtois left Chelsea

“He would have stayed” - Agent explains why Thibaut Courtois left Chelsea
Thibaut Courtois would have stayed at Chelsea if his family lived in London says his agent Christophe Henrotay.
The Belgian goalkeeper swapped west London for Madrid on Thursday evening in a move worth £35 million, ending his seven-year spell with Chelsea.
Courtois joined the European champions on a six-year deal, while Real midfielder Mateo Kovacic went in the opposite direction on loan.
However, according to Courtois' agent, the Belgium international would have stayed in London, but he wanted to move closer to his children who live with their mother in the Spanish capital.

Paris Saint-Germain 3 - 0 Caen: Neymar off the mark as Paris St Germain beat Caen

Paris Saint-Germain 3 - 0 Caen: Neymar off the mark as Paris St Germain beat Caen
Neymar took just 10 minutes of the new season to get off the mark as Paris St Germain beat Caen 3-0.
The champions cruised as Adrien Rabiot added a second 10 minutes before half-time and Tim Weah added a late flourish.
Neymar scored 26 goals as PSG romped to the title last term, and the Brazil striker wasted little time in opening his account for the new campaign.
But it was something of a gift for the hosts after a poor clearance from Caen keeper Brice Samba.
Christopher Nkunku collected the loose ball and instantly played it through to Neymar, who needed no second invitation to whip his shot across Samba and into the net.

Leicester consider Roberto Martinez, Thierry Henry to replace Claude Puel
Leicester City manager Claude Puel is under pressure to keep his job, with the club already considering possible targets to replace him, sources have told ESPN FC.
Sources confirmed a report by the Mirror that Belgium coach Roberto Martinez is on Leicester's radar to replace Puel should they decide to sack him, and Thierry Henry, one of Martinez's assistants with Belgium, is also under consideration.
Puel's security remained uncertain during the summer as Leicester won just one of their last seven games last term.
Leicester's board want to give Puel an opportunity to work with his new squad, but if they do not show improvement over the first six games, they could revisit their position, those sources told ESPN FC.

Michy Batshuayi reveals the real reason he quit Chelsea

Michy Batshuayi reveals the real reason he quit Chelsea
The 24-year-old was shipped out to La Liga by Maurizio Sarri having been deemed surplus to requirements by the ex-Napoli boss.
Batshuayi only joined Chelsea 12 months ago.
However, he struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge and spent the second half of the season on loan at Borussia Dortmund.
His record in the Bundesliga was impressive.
The Belgium international bagged nine goals in 14 appearances for Dortmund.
Batshuayi says he's now relishing the chance to strut his stuff at one of Spain's elite clubs.
